VOLCANO is almost two years old, and one of our favourite shoegazers to play has been DIVE COLLATE @divecollate. Long overdue to make their appearance on our weekly poster, here they are! We are stoked to have a copy of their new split release “Dive The Lions” with Spanish band THE LIONS CONSTELLATION @the_lions_constellation. “Winter” and “Myopic Feelings” both drop onto the VOLCANO turntables from today!
Somewhere out of Badung jumps the spiky-haired dudes NINEFOLDS @ninefolds.music. They have been around since 2004 but for some reason VOLCANO has only just now landed a track to play (WTF guys - send us more music!) and HOW GOOD IS IT!! "Mentari Harapan" (The Sun of Hope) is the just-released first single from an upcoming album - FUCK this rules! The sun is shining dudes!
MORPHINE @rockinmorphine hold a REALLY special place in our heart! VOLCANO’s founders Putu @eco_bamboohouse and Mark @realmarkfahey even appear (via a videobomb) in one of Morphine’s live music videos! Just out is the band’s short film “Black Season” (don’t get Mark started on Bali’s trash and pollution problems - he will NEVER shut up). Solid Rock - Solid Message - “Black Season” is spinning on both VOLCANO and KOMODO.
OK, this is a first - BADBEST @_badbest seem to have NO releases (if they do, we can’t find them) but they get a place on the VOLCANO poster? Huh - What’s going on? We have stumbled across a bootleg video of them playing the RAMONES at Leha Leha in Ubud last month - we have ripped the audio track and when Katie is in a deep late-night punk dive you are gonna hear it on VOLCANO! Being true punks, the band doesn’t reply to our DMs - so that just encourages us to play them more!
