Back in West Java, Nagoya and South Sulawesi

OK, this is weird; NEUROVA @neurovaband is a newly formed band, but they sound so peaked that you would think they have played together for years! NEXT WEEK in the land-locked regency of Majalengka, West Java INDONESIA the guys are about to step onto the stage for their FIRST EVER show! It’s gonna be a headbanger - an EP is on the way, meanwhile, KOMODO can’t stop playing their debut single “Shred”.
Konnichi wa!!! KOMODO’s very first hour on-air featured Nagoya JAPAN’s perpetual pop-punk brats, ACROBAT SHONEN @acrobatshonen. And now five months later we are circling back for more of Nagoya’s melodic punk madness with the GHOST OF MATSUBARA @ghostofmatsubara. Tom from the Ghost is also the drummer for the Acrobats, and news around town is that the band is dropping something new soon! While we wait, KOMODO is featuring two infectiously pogo-able tracks from the band, “Into the Sun” and “Live from a Coma”.
Back in West Java, INDONESIA, this time the destination is Bandung. We had a listen to NSFL @nsfl.id and oh GOSH we want more! They really capture the Bandung culturally rich, university-town vibe! WONDERFUL Alt-Rock and Pop-Punk! KOMODO is spinning “Fall Into Your Melody” and the just-released single “Monster-III-The Origin”.
KOMODO doesn’t know much about KEMENYAN @kemenyan_black_metal other than they are barbaric black metal creatures from INDONESIA’s South Sulawesi province. This part of the world is notable for elaborate funeral rituals and cliff tombs. Dark and mysterious, KEMENYAN’s lyrical themes revolve around hell and the afterlife. The shrieking vocals, distorted guitars, tremolo picking, and fast tempos are delivered in corpse paint. In the hours of darkness, just before dawn, KOMODO is playing tracks from the album “Energy Dari Neraka” (Energy From Hell).
