Instagram’s narcissistic travel influencers may post endless doctored and posed photos of themselves at Pura Lempuyang, or gaining instant spiritual enlightenment in the crowded pool at Trita Empul. But the reality in Bali is that the traffic jams, trash and pollution on the island are more prevalent than pristine rice terraces. Stoner’s MAOONG @maoongrock are thinking about the greed, overdevelopment, and congestion. Sounding the warning is their deep new single “Polyaromatic”. At 12 minutes it is one of the longest tracks we have ever spun and you can taste the poison. Hey if you listen to eclectic sounds on VOLCANO you are clearly not a dumb ass, play your part, do something to clean up the shit, set an example to others and reverse the slide.
The new infectious album from Sanur’s DUMBLEED @dumbleed has landed in the VOLCANO studio. We are only halfway through the year, but we are ready to call it, “Losing Game” is going to be one of our fave albums of the year. It’s hard for us to figure out what song to feature this week - so fuck it, we are going to spin three of them - Listen up for “Social Sexmedia”, Losing Game”, and “Parasite”.
What the heck, the funkiest and the fabolous quintet rap grup from Denpasar, MADNESS ON THA BLOCK @madnessonthablock seem to be releasing tracks at a frantic pace and we are spinning them all! Often seen active in various protests or drinking arak on the streets, their lyrics are fueled by social justice issues ranging from political corruption to the environment, and the silliness that is going on around them.
I Gede Angga Pratama (IGAP) @igap____ is back onto his solo work with the EP “Storyteller” which tells the twists, turns and despair of the love story of his best friend who failed to marry after a 7-year engagement. Why? Well, it’s complicated! Listen up - VOLCANO is spinning “Reconnect”.
