Back in 2021, we started playing 假日貞操 VIRGIN VACATION’S song “Acid Rain” which kicks off with a sound collage of a woman’s voice dispassionately recounting events related to the HONG KONG protests—before being crowded out by multiple copies of itself and a rising drone, reflecting the overwhelming cry from the city. We have just landed some new versions of the song, and this week late at night, we are playing an extended live version as well as a deconstructed and built anew remix of our VV fave. If that’s not enough fresh 假日貞操 for you then don’t fret, caz also spinning is the @wander.chanka rework of “Voices” along with our fave sax, trumpet and trombone endless loop “Red” which provides a sense of eternity, never knowing at which moment the true end of the song will come!
Landing in our mailbox is a new EP from YELLOW FLOWER LIVING WATER @yellowflowerlivingwater, masters of power-pop in Surabaya INDONESIA. “The Great Unconformity” digs into the curious geological phenomena which seem to indicate the absence of human history in soil sediments for several periods. Hmmm, we are going to look that up! Listen up, KOMODO is spinning the track “It’s Nothing”.
STONE COLD KILLERS @stonecoldkillers.official are based in Bali INDONESIA being a combo of talents from near and far; American drummer/producer Deane Ogden (Stevie Wonder, David Foster, Seal, Britney Spears), Javanese session guitarist Faizar Fasya (Afgan, Vidi Aldiano), former Brewok bassist Ilham Suhada, star of The Voice Indonesia Ava Prabawa, and Sumatran saxophone wunderkind Caam comprise the crew. Listen up for “The Pressure”, it kicks big time and has entered high rotation from today!
