Welcome to the year of the TIGER!

新年快乐, Chúc mừng năm mới, 새해 복 많이 받으세요, Welcome to the year of the TIGER!

KOMODO is now seven months old, we are still a toddler, not yet steady on our feet, but we are growing fast, and the TIGER’s attributes of independence and justice resonate with our mission. This year KOMODO will learn to walk and run! Listen to Katie @katkills & Jongo @jonathangoehr deliver the new stuff 24x7 (Satellite, Apps, Cable TV, Web) - you know how to use Google, right?

TAIYOKEN @taiyoken.sgn are four clean-cut pop-punkers from Saigon VIETNAM with a growling edge! KOMODO is spinning “The Sweet Ignorance” that features Huỳnh Huy, the vocalist of beatdown band District 105. Also, keep your ears open for their latest “Always” which drops onto our studio turntables later this month!

You can be excused for thinking the band VETERANS @veterans_sg are Pakistani or Indian, they are masters of that South Asian metal sound - but they are actually five expats living in SINGAPORE. KOMODO is working its way through their debut album “Fake, Quiet and Peace” over the coming months. Do some pre-listening by catching VETERANS playing the whole album live on their YouTube channel.

SOUTH KOREAN melodic metalcore band DAY OF MOURNING @day_of_mourning hone in their love for bands like Misery Signals, Being As an Ocean and Counterparts on their new epic single “Nord”. The song is a tribute to a friend (J. H. Lee) who has passed away - “So long my friend, we didn’t plan this abrupt goodbye - Cries and smiles are all we have now”.

MAENARD & THE RAVERS @maenadandtheraversbring us a FAVE song with two distinct but complementary parts “Snowblind + Garish Moon”. Cecilia, Ming and Wing create Darkwave Post-Punk from HONG KONG. Just this week they dropped a sneak peek of new track - “Hollowness” - Katie and Jongo are stumbling over each other to be the first to play it on-air!

KOMODO’s art is by Bali’s @rickybilly50 – download the posters each week from our website!
