PHONETIC @phonetictheband are newcomers making alt/indie/pop from Bandung, Java, INDONESIA. They sent KOMODO the coolest bunch of photos, artwork and sounds to introduce their EP “Hope, Made My Day”. All four songs contain an element of ‘poison’ with infectious beats, inserts, fills-ins, shouts and chants. PHONETIC have catapulted into HIGH ROTATION on KOMODO! We are gonna kick it off with “Somebody Like You” and “Make It Better”.
KOMODO listeners are no strangers to Elliott Wan (formerly of Strange Lives) and Underdog (formerly of David Boring, Noah to Nowhere, and Die!ChiwawaDie!). Both are stuck in Europe during pandemic times, but that hasn’t stopped their new HONG KONG noise/punk project KVYLE @kvylehk dropping over to us their latest! A few months ago, they sent us some raw unfinished mixes of their maxi-single “I’ll Pack My Things Up” together with a fake GettyImage of the band. Now, SHOCK - it’s released! They claim to be from an asylum in Central Java, INDONESIA undergoing an intensive medication schedule. KOMODO accepts all if it sounds good - and this does! Listen out for “Parting Gift” and “Smoke Break Rendezvous”. Slide Guitar LOVE!
