Arriving in our mailbox from Tangerang INDONESIA, we found a really slick, energetic single from FAIR AFFAIR @fairaffair_ina. Rinto, Ridwan, Bono and Bonny are on the way to popunk stardom with their debut “Liberated”, the story of a toxic relationship. Hey guy’s your girlfriend is going to love this one, it’s spinning on KOMODO!
OK, here comes a change of pace! OSBORN @osborn.official play an amazing cocktail of hardcore, metalcore and thrash in that no-nonsense East-Java, INDONESIA way. The guys are taking on the downtown scene from Kepanjen, out in the sticks far beyond the Malang city limits. Just out is their EP “The Gray Chapter” which was recorded during the pandemic isolation period using ZOOM and other collaborative online tools. You are going to hear all five tracks on KOMODO, this week we are featuring “Won’t Surcease”.
Of course, KOMODO loves to play J-ROCK and indie J-POP, but you kind of expect these bands to come from JAPAN don’t you? Well, we kid you not - we have unearthed a J-ROCK band from Bali INDONESIA! HARU NO AME @harunoameofficial_ really pull it off, they sound like they are straight out of the Tokyo clubs! Let’s get them on the air, we are spinning their smashing high-energy track, “Subarashii Sekai” (Amazing World).
Surabaya INDONESIA is well known for its hardcore scene. RAOUSSE @raousse_ej have decided to break from their usual city sound by playing Post Hardcore / EMO. Formed 11 months ago by four guys studying at Airlangga University, they crafted a complex and unique sound that is a rarity in their home city. The guys took a trip to Malang to record their maxi single “Guidance and Letter”. Check both tracks out - they are spinning on KOMODO!
