On Wednesday our three radio stations in Bali (VOLCANO, MESIN & VILLAGE) will be broadcasting natural sounds from a jungle microphone. We return to our usual programming at 6AM Thursday. If you still need a music fix on Wednesday, our pan-Asian network KOMODO is on the air all day as usual playing Asia’s freshest alternative and independent.
We keep stumbling across a unique alt-rock genre - We call it INDO-JAP! It’s INDONESIAN bands that play in JAPAN’s J-Rock or J-Pop style. AMATIRASU @amtr_bali create pop-punk with a Japanese flair! These guys break out some fresh magic with that J-twist of being insanely catchy! What’s not to love? VOLCANO is featuring their debut single “Don’t Give Up”. It’s an anthem for living - as Amatirasu themself say, “don't be s.o.be.r (Stay in your BEdRoom) just go outside make ur self comfortable and don't give up coz life is hard”.
Well, this is really EMBARRASSING!... VOLCANO plays ONLY BALINESE alternative, but we really stuffed up and have accidentally included HIDDEN MESSAGE @hddnmssg (from Bogor!!!) as a feature on this week’s VOLCANO poster. Oh well, WTF, we might as well tell you their super new single "Di Balik Kaca" (Behind The Glass) has just dropped - if you want to catch it then tune your radio over to our Asian station @radiokomodo caz that’s where we are spinning it!
WISHLAY’s @wishlay_16 debut full-length is finally out! The dudes from Gianyar have just dropped the album “Beban” (Burden) - 9 tracks of anger, despair, and burden! We LOVE every track, and we are going to spin them all, but this week we are featuring “Hidup Ku” (My Life) - membunuh ku - our minds have now been seduced.
MARTEL @martel.hc are threatening us by force to promote their debut cassette. Yep, OK, that type of promotion works for us. This week listen up for VOLCANO spinning “Won’t Stop” - it’s hardcore nasty. If ya’ want your own take-home copy then grab it via @skullism.records.
