KOMODO plays 100% ASIAN on virtually every digital device, check out our BIO and website to find out how! We only play fresh independent and alternative; if a song is more than 18 months old it has to be iconic to still get a spin! Adventurous and enjoy listening to the un-conventional? Then we are the place for you!
Jump in, here are some of the new sounds KATIE @katkills & JONGO @jonathangoehr spin next week…
Denny @dennyninja, the guitarist of Bali INDONESIA’s hardcore band STRIKES, has dropped an amazing debut EP from his project YOUR INTENTIONS @yourintentions__. A massive departure from the STRIKES sound - “The band was inspired by post-punk and indie bands such as The Cure, The Drums, and The Vaccines. I was interested in exploring other forms of music than hardcore”. KOMODO is spinning the tracks “Set Me Free” and “Tak Ingin Lagi Bersamanya” (Don't Want To Be With Him Anymore).
In New Delhi, INDIA we found AARLON @aarlonofficial and their sublime full-length “Dafan”. The album is a rock/metalcore journey through the gamut of emotions a human being can experience in their lifetime shackled in the cages of a capitalist society. Though there is not one central theme, the dark realities of a human soul have been laid down bare, without shame. Listen up for the tracks “Inquilaab” and “Vidroh”. PS - Don’t miss the videos!
TAIWAN punkers SPIT! (via Japanese label @capture_device) have made their way to KOMODO! We are spinning “What Can I Do”. With its harsh female vocals, thrashcore, grindcore, and sludge - what’s not to LOVE! Listen fast -it’s only 50 seconds - pure FIZZY!
KOMODO loves playing folk metal from all corners of Asia, and this week we introduce a new favourite, TAIWAN’s CRESCENT LAMENT 恆月三途 @crescentlament. The band weaves sorrowful Taiwanese stories with soprano vocals and aesthetic folk metal melodies to deliver an undertone of grief. KOMODO is spinning 破鏡緣 (Once Shattered Mirror). Sorrow has never sounded so wonderful!
