Following their live collaboration in December 2022, VIRGIN VACATION are again working with MC GOLD MOUNTAIN @goldmtn and the ROMER STRING QUARTET @romerstringquartet, one of HONG KONG’s leading young chamber ensembles. The single Forest has a rich filmic sense and literary quality lent by Gold Mountain’s poetic lyrics. The song discusses the darkness and fear that lies in our hearts, and questions how these concepts are formed. Are they implanted in us from birth, or collectively imagined by humans through years of life experience? Hear “Forest” this week on KOMODO and don’t miss the clip on YouTube.
Alas, the unthinkable has happened. CAR CRASH COMA @carcrashcomatv were busy working on their new album and due to a hard disk corruption, they lost ALL the work and much of their previous files as well. This has been such a setback that the band has split up - shut down! Far out :( - KOMODO loved playing these strange JAVANESE dudes, and we even caught their live set a few months ago. Lucky for us the band lives on at KOMODO, this week (and every week!) we spin them, this week we are featuring the tracks “Perfume” and “Smoke Break Rendesvouz”.
Also from INDONESIA, spinning this week is the wonderful alt-rock single “Hak dan Harapan” (Rights and Hopes) from PRASIWAN @prasiwanmusic & HELLO SUN @hellosun0_0. The track outlines a communal experience that despite the various dark experiences that everyone has gone through in their life, they still have the right to hope for a good day later. Hey that’s not all, also catch HELLO SUN’s new single “Fall” spinning this month!
