FERVIDS @fervidsph out of Albay, PHILIPPINES are no strangers to KOMODO listeners. Heavily influenced by the 60's British Invasion their music is straightforward with memorable guitar hooks, and raucous drums. Fervid’s latest single “Annihilation” explores hypocrisy, its effects on people, and how these hypocrites should be called out through annihilation exposing who they really are. SHELLIN @shellinofficial, an east JAVANESE fave, are mouthing off again and this time their target is the self-righteous. “Wajah” (Face) features some amazing synth and a killer guitar solo, with @seputardugong of CLOSURE @closureposts lending additional vocals. It’s Industrial - think of an INDONESIAN twist on Rammstein, Architects, Nine Inch Nails, and Ghostmane and you will understand why we are spinning it to the max!
We are pretty sure we have never featured a piano-accordion solo before! JAKARTA’s LUNARIAN @lunarian.music with their ever-eccentric style and wicked use of chromatic note progressions are transporting us to a Tim Burtonesque horror carnival of wonders. “Noble Mind Traveller” shares the musings of a man in his search for truth who tears himself away from the comfort of dogma and chooses to embark on a journey of discovery. We LOVE it - and ya can’t miss it because it’s entered high rotation this week on KOMODO!
KOMODO has been lucky enough to catch BALI’s TWINKLE WOUNDS @twinklewoundslive a few times in the last few months and we so love their Midwest Emo, Mathrock sound layered with twinkly melodies. We have been hanging out to get our hands on a copy of their debut EP and now we are spinning all six tracks, listen up this week for our faves, “An Introduction” and their new arrangement of their previous single “Broski Posi Talk”.
