Kang C @kangfu28 front man of THAILAND’s post-hardcore/alternative band THE ROCKET WHALE @therocketwhaleband has dropped over heaps of sounds for us to get on the air. KOMODO listeners will immediately recognise their song “You”, which tackles climate change, plastic waste and hate - it’s one of our all-time fave tracks to spin! Over the next few months KOMODO is diving deeper into The Rocket Whale’s ocean, listen up for “22”, “Us”, “Wishing Well” and this week’s focus “Relativity”.
There are plenty of delusions to be found in life - an unshakable belief in something untrue and the inability to determine what is real or imagined. WAHAM (the Bahasa INDONESIA word for DELUSION) @wvhvm casually formed in Bandung when three bedroom musos casually used the moniker Waham during the pandemic as a cathartic project to navigate the crazy times. What they created was so compelling that have since morphed into a “REAL” band! This week onwards KOMODO is going to be playing them heaps! Listen up for “Upside Down”, “TV Show”, and “Fools” as we eagerly await their soon-to-be-released EP “Self-Diagnose”.
SHRINE @shrinemusic_ have been in touch to introduce themselves as a bunch of newcomer Shoegaze/Post-rockers stuck in the limbo of Surabaya, INDONESIA. This coming MONDAY they are dropping their brilliant debut EP "Sacred Limbo”. Themes of anxiety, the inability to fulfil expectations, and self-acknowledgement despite past failures underpin the tracks, with a reminder that at the end of the day, tranquillity can only be achieved through dreams and hopes. Listen up, we are spinning all tracks off the EP, with our first dive being “Placid Mind”.
