KOMODO really loves spinning tracks from NAIVE SUPER @naive_super_music the music project by JAPAN’s Yushi Ibuki. Regular listeners will already be familiar with “Feel My Body Electric” and “Within Us Invincible Summer”. Landing in our studio this week is the new release “Splendid Silent Sun”. Emily’s vocals together with Sunap’s guitar work (Luby Sparks) and Yuto Sawai’s bass (Nekosen) give the song an amazing Motown feeling - so 60’s and 70’s! We LOVE it, and you will too - listen up, “Splendid Silent Sun” enters high rotation today!
Re-TROS @re_tros_official emerged from Nanjing, CHINA’s underground music scene way back in 2004. Lead singer/guitar/keys Hua Dong had just returned from studying abroad in Germany and was drumming for seminal Chinese post-punk band P.K.14 when he formed the band with bassist Liu Min, now his wife. Soon, the couple moved to Beijing, enrolled local drummer Ma Hui, and began playing out in Beijing clubs. It’s had been at least five years since we had seen a release from them, but we have just stumbled across their new 2023 drop “Three Body” which we think might be the song they wrote for a TV series? Who knows, regardless it’s super cool, and it’s spinning.
Oh WOW - after a two-year hiatus, the post-hardcore unit from Kota Wisata Batu INDONESIA, ENAMORE @gimmenamore are back with the new single “Sandikala” exploring inevitable pain and severing. This one is a post-screamo-spiced rock KILLER - the build is wonderful! Welcome back to the world guys! Catch it from today on KOMODO!
Outa Surabaya INDONESIA we got mail from REVERIE @reverie_ina who play emotive punk inspired by modern revival emo and pop punk bands. The guys shot their latest drop, “Peace in Your Violence” to KOMODO and we are rushing it into high-rotation airplay from today! Get dancing!!
