At KOMODO we love it when a band sends us music that shakes the shit. Landing in our mailbox from SURABAYA is METAFORE’s @dengarmetafore new single “Watu-Watu Batu” (Stone Times). It digs deep into the band’s resentment towards the culture of violence which has become normalised and delivered ad nauseam on social media. The guys don’t have the perfect solution, but hey why not join them in ignoring the destructive power and violence?

We get SO excited when NAGOYA’s perpetual pop-punk brats ACROBAT☆SHONEN @acrobatshonen release something new! Without “Question?” their new single is of course awesome - and because we are in that acrobat mood we have dragged back into the studio some of our other faves “Skirt”, “I Can’t Remember Your Name”, “Dramatic Love Chicken” and our all-time fave “English Song (Provisional)”. Actually, let’s be honest, ACROBAT☆SHONEN never leaves the KOMODO studio, we spin them every day!
Is that a washing machine on your head?…
A floppy disk arrived in our mail (!!) - it’s the super double-track single "Bersama Berdoa" from SURABAYA band YIAZMAT @hailyiazmat. The two tracks have totally different feels, but they are connected; "Doa Pekan Ini" expresses frustration towards life's unpleasant realities, while "10/100" bitches about the uncertainties of achieving goals. KOMODO is spinning both!

The name ADI GROUP @adigroup__ sounds like the name of some sus, evil, corrupt JAKARTA-based conglomerate. But actually, it’s the band member’s initials - Acy (Bass), Dimas (Drums) & Ichal (Guitar) - we think these guys must have been smoking something. They sent us “Doomsday Friday”, a song to remind us of the upcoming apocalypse. Listen up, it’s purple, it’s psychedelic, it’s spinning on KOMODO!
