Drink up! It’s the new year, VOLCANO is three years old and we are slurping even fresher BALINESE independent, alternative, rock, punk and metal. This week four bands make their VOLCANO debut - they have never been on the poster before and we haven’t played them on the air - until now!
Denpasar’s DIVN (Devil Inside Violence Nation) @divn.666 make godland industrial hardcore! Their debut single “Post Apocalyptic” is bathed in lyrics of despair, and nihilism with a blend of post-hardcore nuances and punk urgency. All layered upon explosions of aggression and noise. Soo NASTY, we LOVE it! Listen up, VOLCANO has joined the darkness.
Ready for another, are ya still on your legs? LOCABARA @locabararock specialises in serving rock that makes you hot, shake and cramp. Have a scull, their debut single “Illusion” is shaken but not stirred.
A shot of MAHEN with some WISNANDS delivers KURUSHIMI @kurushimi.hc, the island’s new dynamic Emotional/Melodic Hardcore duo. Their debut single “Happiness” may be created in Bali, but as the norm with this clique, they have also thrown in some Japanese lyrics. What’s going on? 幸せとは何？ 誰か助けてよ！Listen up - the answer is VOLCANO!
In a few weeks, the VOLCANO poster has some gagging cock action from KANEKURO cumming - so wait for that, but meanwhile... While we have been in the mosh heaps of times to see HENDRA GINTING @hendra_harmanda axe it in @kanekuro_ and @bentenofficials, we are yet to catch him live in MUTO…
MUTO @mutomutoo is punk with a crashing, rough and violent edge that appeals to your lowest level of consciousness. If you want to catch a bedouin make a six-string wail, then this is the act to catch. VOLCANO is spinning ALL four tracks from the EP “Yeah Yeah Yeah!”. This week sing along to “Lesti”, it’s really easy to learn the lyrics to this gem of a song - basically ya’ just yell the word “Lesti” continuously.
