There’s this song, “The Truth” by SATVA @satvamusic, that’s been hanging around the VOLCANO studio for months. It’s the most amazing track - one of Bali’s best alt-pop creations ever! We’ve emailed the band, DM’ed them, and they never reply. But that’s not gonna stop us from shining some light on them. Listen up: “The Truth” is a feature track all month on VOLCANO!
Our radio stations up north in Singapore and Hong Kong play heaps of LITTLE PLEASURES @littlepleasuresmusic. Pretty much every time we spin their track “Back in Berlin,” we get texts and DMs asking, “What was that?!” One of their creative geniuses, Aaron Lawrie @az2101, also rocks a Denpasar-based grunge/rock project - BALIAN @balianband. BALIAN’s EP “Mind Reader” has dropped, and from it, “Missing the Rain” is spinning all month on VOLCANO.
It’s been way too long since VOLCANO hit up a SHANKAR @shankar_id gig. So, let’s load “Tempest” into one of our studio cassette players. Five tracks, all worthy of being a VOLCANO feature. Which one to choose? Impossible decision! KATIE @kateaceous has been spinning “Bloodlust” and “Triumph” in her shows lately. JONGO @jongo_on_air has “Desolation” and “Beyond Redemption” on heavy rotation. That leaves me to pick this month’s VOLCANO feature track – drumroll… it’s “Only Regrets That Remain.” Such sweet “wow and flutter,” such beautiful “hiss,” and the joy of utterly consuming darkness.
ARHETA @arheta has WHAT?! OMG, it’s true! Arheta - certainly always rock and funky in her own right - is diving even deeper into DR’s, Gung’s, & Deane’s prog pool as the new vocalist for STONE COLD KILLERS @stonecoldkillers.official. Mark your calendar: January 4th in Uluwatu is where you can catch them next live. Meanwhile, their latest single, “Lead the Way,” is what we think is the slickest track of the year. We’re spinning it at least four times a day on VOLCANO right through until January 4th!
