KOMODO was just chatting to 18Fevers 일팔피버스 @18feversand the topic soon turned to the incredible SOUTH KOREAN punx’ers, RUMKICKS @rumkicks. We featured RUMKICKS on a poster way back in 2021, and we decided it was time to shine them some love again as we spin them on the air LOTS! Those fine ladies have just wrapped up an extensive Indonesian tour that even had them playing a few shows here in Bali – was wild! Listen up this week, we are spinning their latest banger “PUNK is Nowhere”.
When two guys called Bona and T-Bone contacted KOMODO, we immediately sat up straight and took notice…
UNTOLD @untold_band are outa East Jakarta, INDONESIA. Bona (Guitar / Vocals), Agam (Guitar), T-Bone (Bass / Back Vocal) and Kinan (Drum) are bashing out fast, solid, melodic punk - we love ‘em and you will too! Dig around the dark corners of a distro and you may be lucky enough to score their album “Ornament” which features some pretty controversial cover art! Landing in the KOMODO studio is a fresh delivery from them - take a punch, “Spit the Anger” is spinning this week!
After getting a heads-up from @strugglerecordsph we dusted off our old turntable to play the new 7” vinyl release from THE CLASS @punk.rock.naga (if you don’t have a turntable – head over to Bandcamp). These FILIPINOS play good old-fashioned punk. All four tracks really kick, they are angry and have quite a lot to say about today's social ills. We are going to be spinning these guys heaps, this week we are featuring the track “Pramis” (Frame).
At KOMODO we have always thought of Terengganu, MALAYSIA to be a pretty conservative place, but maybe we have been wrong all along. It’s time for us to rethink the scene there now that AWANG SAMROW @awangsamrow (AKA Fahmi Samsudin) has been in touch. He dropped over to us plenty of his glam, what a star! This week listen up for “Gelojoh (feat. Eff Hakim)” - it’s certainly unique and so ravenous!
