THE SIDE BURNS @sammanziad are certainly one of the hardest working rockabilly bands in Asia. If you get to Hong Kong seeing them is a MUST - Mr Pink (Bass), Wolfy Gimbal (Drums) & Rumpelstiltskin (Guitar) never disappoint! KOMODO is featuring “the Hangover” which is a little different from their usual rockabilly sound. BUT don’t worry we haven’t ignored their rockabilly/country awesomeness - also playing is their just-released EP - “Hurtin’ Country”.
A rock trio straight from Tangerang, Indonesia? Yep - We are talking DIRTY ASS @dirtyass_band. Gerry, Gilang and Bayu have dropped high-energy magnificence with their new album “Distopia” – it’s garage with hardcore punk vibes. KOMODO is playing all the tracks and this week we are featuring “Enyah”.
XHARKIE @xharkie.tw is the brand-new melodic punk, ska and punk rock project by Sharkie from former Taiwanese female punk rock band HOTPINK. Roping in other band members from Taiwan, Japan and Hong Kong their first full-length album “Fragile” is a MUST LISTEN. This week KOMODO is featuring the insanely great “Suzuki” and “One Way Ticket”.
Let’s get to Malaysia’s JEMSON @xjemsonx - OMG - if you only catch one music video on YouTube this week then make it “Lu Power” featuring Not Salleh of HUJAN @hujanband – It’s a total trip out - flying saucers - evil alien creatures and power riffs. Every listen makes us want to don our Oculus VR headset and smash out a Beat Saber session or two!
